Cyprus Trade Centre in the UAE: Forging Deeper Partnerships and Driving Innovation

The ever growing and dynamic partnership between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Republic of Cyprus has reached new heights, with both countries actively engaging to strengthen and expand cooperation across key sectors, including, among others, economy, trade, investments, and energy. Discussions between UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides underscore a shared vision and commitment to regional stability, progress and prosperity.

The Republic of Cyprus has further enhanced its collaboration with the UAE through two significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed by the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, Dr. Nikodimos Damianou. The first MoU, signed with Khazna Data Centers—the UAE’s largest data center provider and a key entity within the G42 conglomerate—aiming to position Cyprus as a regional hub for technological innovation. The second MoU, signed during the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025 in Dubai with UAE Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, H.E Omar Sultan Al Olama, focuses on accelerating AI adoption and fostering research collaboration between the two Countries.

The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus to the UAE, alongside with the Cyprus Trade Centre in Dubai, have an instrumental role in boosting and enabling further strengthening these ties by actively participating in major global exhibitions such as GITEX Global, Gulfood, and ADIPEC. These engagements were key in carrying out the groundwork necessary for achieving the enriched cooperation in critical areas, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure. Moreover, ongoing discussions with the UAE’s TAQA Group and ADNOC have highlighted promising investment opportunities in Cyprus’s energy sector, further solidifying the growing bilateral relationship.
