TechIsland: Powering Cyprus’s Digital Future

Among the many sectors with potential in Cyprus, the tech industry stands out as a rapidly emerging powerhouse.
TechIsland is playing a central role in Cyprus’ emergence as a global tech destination. Founded by industry leaders, the association now represents over 355 companies—60% of them international—making it the largest tech business organization in the country. Collectively, its members employ more than 20,000 professionals in Cyprus and 40,000 worldwide.

“We’ve built an inclusive and dynamic ecosystem that supports companies in Cyprus of all sizes, in various subsectors,” says Tanya Romanyukha, General Manager of TechIsland. The organization fosters collaboration through professional communities, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and partnerships with major global players such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Snap.

With Cyprus contributing over 14% of its GDP from the tech sector, the momentum is clear. “Cyprus is uniquely positioned as a gateway to Europe for companies from the Middle East,” Romanyukha adds. “There is tremendous potential here, and TechIsland is committed to advocating for tech, attracting and cultivating talent, and strengthening the island’s role in the global tech landscape.”
